The history of the university dates back to 1948, when the Kaluga State Pedagogical Institute was founded on the basis of the teacher’s institute. In 2010, the university became a classical university. An integral part of the activities of the Kaluga State University named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky is a scientific work in which students are actively involved. Priority scientific areas are: biology, history, mathematics, pedagogy, psychology, sociology, physics, ecology, linguistics.
