Kaluga enterprise substitutes imported components for additive manufacturing

02.02.2024

Obninsk Research and Production Enterprise Technologiya named after A.G. Romashin (part of Rostec State Corporation) developed and launched the production of components made of technical ceramics for equipment used in additive manufacturing. The company’s capacities allow for total substitution of foreign analogues. It is planned to produce up to 5 thousand components / year.
Ceramic nozzles for gas spraying of metal melts, bushings and crucible kits are in demand in installations producing metal powders — the raw materials for 3D printers. Domestic products have high wear resistance, chemical endurance in molten metals and withstand heating up to 1800 ° C.
“Thanks to our development, the problem of downtime of expensive equipment due to the lack of key components has been solved. In the course of completing the task, the company received nine patents for inventions, five of which are implemented in production. The development was also awarded a special prize of the All-Russian competition for the best ideas for creating new technologies and products,” — Andrey Silkin, General Director of Obninsk Research and Production Enterprise Technologiya said.
